Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has dismissed any link to Cheltenham winger Luke Thomas after it was reported that the club had made a £50,000 bid for the 16-year-old starlet during his pre-match press conference.
He has been impressing so far this season, having already made the bench for Cheltenham this season. He has also scored 12 goals at Under-18 level, leading to a lot of interest from bigger clubs.

You can hear Koeman speak about Thomas by clicking the link in the tweet above.
Along with Southampton; Benfica, Derby and Bristol were all thought to be interested in securing the services of the young starlet. He impressed Benfica in pre-season with Cheltenham and was heavily linked with a move to the Portugese side over the summer.
However, Ronald Koeman has been quick to dismiss any talk of signing him and claimed that he knew nothing about any bid made or about the player at all. He could be playing coy or he could genuinely not know about the situation. We will have to wait and see.
