Southampton took another huge step towards survival in the Premier League today by beating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at St Mary’s.
A lone Danny Ings goal was enough to hand the Saints three points, with Tottenham being unable to respond to Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side.
The result lifts Southampton further away from the bottom three, and closer to safety in the Premier League.
Several fans took to twitter to praise Hasenhuttl’s side, with many delighted with the performance and the result.

This was a superb result and performance from the Saints, who are really hitting their stride now.
Ralph Hasenhuttl was given time to repair his team, and he has done that and more.
As long as Danny Ings stays fit, Southampton are in a good place.
