Opposition Dangerman: Watford (H)
Premier League football is back this weekend, and Southampton will welcome Watford to St Mary’s Stadium as they look to get back to winning ways.
Saints head into this clash having picked up five points from their first three games, following two draws against Swansea and Huddersfield and a win against West Ham.
Watford, on the other hand, are also keen to get another win under their belts. Like Saints, they have picked up five points from a possible nine. The Hornets have won once against Bournemouth, and drew twice against Liverpool and Brighton.
Saturday’s opponents have a plethora of impressive players, but there are some that do stand out.
For me, the man who Saints should be most worried about on Saturday is Brazilian sensation, Richarlison.
Signed from Fluminense in the recent summer window, the powerful attacker has caught the eye of many with some impressive performances on the flanks.
Richarlison has established himself as a vital cog in the way Marco Silva wants to play, tying in with his intention of playing expansive football whilst making the wide outlets the predominant outballs.
The 20-year-old has become something of a fans’ favourite already at Vicarage Road, getting the Hornets faithful on their feet with his direct style of play, coinciding with an abundance of skill and creativity.
Richarlison has already netted once this season and is sure to cause Saints some problems going forward.
