# Saints fans lament Kyle Walker-Peters injury blow

A number of Southampton fans have been bemoaning the news that [Kyle Walker-Peters](https://readsouthampton.com/?p=60421)is set to miss out on the game against Arsenal tonight with a muscle injury.

The right-back has been [one of the Saints’ most impressive performers](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/18/Show/England-Southampton) so far this season after the club signed him for [£12m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53740611) from Tottenham following an initial loan move. The 23-year-old [has been an ever-present](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kyle-walker-peters/leistungsdaten/spieler/341051) for Southampton in the Premier League so far this term and he has helped Hasenhuttl’s side record eight clean sheets in his 18 appearances ([Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/player/kyle-walker-peters/823085)).

He started the FA Cup win against Arsenal on Saturday and he was an influential performer as they secured a 1-0 win. Walker-Peters managed to make four tackles, one interception, one clearance and two vital blocks ([Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/player/kyle-walker-peters/823085)). That shows how huge a loss he will be for the Saints as they aim to repeat their cup victory in the Premier League tonight.

Hasenhuttl [confirmed the injury news](https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2021-01-25/team-news-southampton-arsenal-premier-league-2020-21) to the media ahead of the game against Arsenal. It will likely represent a chance for Yan Valery to come into the side for his [first start in the league](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yan-valery/leistungsdaten/spieler/406008) this term. The full-back has had [two appearances from the bench](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yan-valery/leistungsdaten/spieler/406008) against Liverpool and Leicester City and he will now get the chance to stake a claim and remind Hasenhuttl of his qualities.

> This is why [#SaintsFC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/SaintsFC?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) are so desperate for RB cover. As soon as KWP is injured, we have no options. Added injuries mean we can't even chuck Stephens out there for a game.
