Southampton fans hail Che Adams' performance in Blades thrashing

A number of Southampton supporters have been heaping praise on Che Adams after his impressive performance during their 3-0 win against Sheffield United on Sunday.

Adams went into this season under a bit of pressure after struggling at times in his first season at St Mary’s last term in which he managed to register just four Premier League goals in 30 appearances. However, so far this term, the 24-year-old has been much improved and he has started to develop a strong partnership with fellow striker Danny Ings.

Against Sheffield United, it was Adams who was the sharper of the duo, registering his fourth league goal of the season as well as making an impressive four key passes (Sofascore). That made him one of Southampton’s most influential performers in the attacking third as they ran out comfortable winners.

Ralph Hasenhuttl heaped praise on Adams’ evolution as a Southampton player and was quick to suggest that he is not surprised that the 24-year-old has managed to improve his output in the final third. That shows the faith that the Austrian has in the striker and it is now starting to reap rewards on the field.

Southampton fans react to Che Adams’ performance

Many Southampton fans were quick to applaud Adams’ “brilliant” performance against Sheffield United and some were keen to praise him for the improvements that he has made to his game during the opening few months of this season.

Che Adams

– no player in the team works harder
– scoring/assisting goals weekly
– perfect foil for Ings
– superb general link-up / hold-up

Almost mad to think back to that crazy goalless run.#SaintsFC

Another incredibly professional performance.

– Made up for Redmond, brilliant move
– Ings not quite 100% in front of goal but massively lifts the side
– Adams brilliant again
– Walcott deserves huge credit for working hard enough to fit the system at 30+ #saintsfc

What a great performance. One way traffic all game. Adams was impressive and great to have Danny back starting. Only a brief cameo but I also thought Diallo looked pretty good #saintsfc

Vestergaard outstanding once again, seems to get better by the week. Adams so good at holding the ball and spraying passes either side of him. This team is oozing in confidence, Hasenhuttl has got us playing the best football we’ve seen in a very long time. We’re 3rd. #SaintsFC pic.twitter.com/bt8tqWhdQW
