A number of Southampton supporters have been heaping praise on Che Adams after his impressive performance during their 3-0 win against Sheffield United on Sunday.
Adams went into this season under a bit of pressure after struggling at times in his first season at St Mary’s last term in which he managed to register just four Premier League goals in 30 appearances. However, so far this term, the 24-year-old has been much improved and he has started to develop a strong partnership with fellow striker Danny Ings.
Against Sheffield United, it was Adams who was the sharper of the duo, registering his fourth league goal of the season as well as making an impressive four key passes (Sofascore). That made him one of Southampton’s most influential performers in the attacking third as they ran out comfortable winners.
Ralph Hasenhuttl heaped praise on Adams’ evolution as a Southampton player and was quick to suggest that he is not surprised that the 24-year-old has managed to improve his output in the final third. That shows the faith that the Austrian has in the striker and it is now starting to reap rewards on the field.
