# Southampton v Everton: Key battles

Southampton will be looking for their first Premier League win since mid-September when they welcome Everton on Sunday.

The Toffees haven’t won at St Mary’s since 2015, and have lost their last three visits in the league.

After a tough run of fixtures, Saints face a more favourable streak in the build-up to Christmas, and they will be hoping to turn their fortunes and pull away from the relegation zone.

Back-to-back trips to the Etihad saw Saints attempt to bounce back from the defeat against Leicester, and they put in two spirited performances and were unlucky in defeat.

Everton sit a place above Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men and have three point advantage, with tomorrow’s fixture a big affair for both teams.

After clinching a late draw against Tottenham last weekend, confidence could be fairly high in the Toffee’s camp, despite them losing Andre Gomes to a serious ankle injury.

Victory from tomorrow’s game could light the spark that Saints need to get back to winning ways. So I have taken a look at the key battles…
