Real Betis in the race to sign Manolo Gabbiadini

Real Betis have entered the race to sign Manolo Gabbiadini from Southampton in January, according to a report from Estadio Deportivo.

The Italian international has been overlooked by Ralph Hasenhuttl following his appointment as the first-team manager at St Mary’s, prompting claims that the striker will depart in the current transfer window.

It is believed that Gabbiadini has been placed on the transfer list as the Saints aim to offload some fringe players midway through the season.

Estadio Deportivo’s report indicates that several Serie A clubs have expressed an interest in signing the 27-year-old, but a move to Spain may not yet be out of the question.

The former Napoli star has been linked with a switch to AC Milan in recent weeks as he continues to be excluded from Hasenhuttl’s 18-man matchday squads.

Gabbiadini’s agent Silvio Pagliari has been in regular dialogue with Southampton’s board this week, according to the claims from the Spanish media outlet.
