Fulham are growing increasingly frustrated with their pursuit to sign Matt Targett from Southampton and are exploring other alternatives, according to the Mirror.
The Whites are desperate to sign Targett after the left-back impressed during a short-term loan spell at Craven Cottage last term, but it seems they are struggling to convince Saints to sell.
Targett spent the second half of last season on loan with Slavisa Jokanovic’s side and played a key role as Fulham secured promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.
It’s believed that Saints declined the Whites’ opening offer of £10m for Targett, with the Mirror again reiterating that the club are not in a hurry to sell one of their brightest young talents.
With talks stalling, it’s claimed that Fulham are now being forced to look elsewhere, with Sweden international Ludwig Augustinsson now being lined up.
Targett is currently out in China with the rest of the Southampton squad as Mark Hughes continues to put his side through their paces in preparation for the 2018/19 season.
