Southampton have made an approach to the representatives of Toulouse defender Christopher Jullien, according to reports.
Saints have apparently contacted the agent of the 25-year-old to gauge his interest in a possible move to St Mary’s as Mark Hughes looks to make improvements to a Southampton defence which conceded 56 league goals last season.
Newcastle United have also approached Jullien’s entourage as they too are keen on bringing the former French U20 international to the Premier League.

The centre-back played 36 games in all competitions for Toulouse last season, scoring two goals in the process. His performances earned positive reviews in France and it seems like they caught the eye of scouts at Southampton too.
Southampton have yet to make any significant moves in the transfer market this summer but will be keen to get some deals over the line in the coming weeks as Hughes will want as much time with his new recruits as possible.
