Southampton have reportedly bid €25 million bid for Colombian midfielder Mateus Uribe.
Colombian outlet Alargue Caracol announced the Saints had sent an offer to Uribe’s club America of ‘about 25 million euros’.
Uribe joined Mexican outfit America prior to the 2017/18 season, and enjoyed a hugely successful campaign. Scoring 11 goals, the 27-year-old showed scouts all over the world what he is capable of.
Interested in bringing him to the south coast, Mark Hughes’ Southampton are keen to bring the Colombian international to St Mary’s.
Named in the 23-man Colombia squad for the World Cup, Uribe has made all eight of his national team appearances since his first call-up a year ago.
Despite having never played outside of the Americas, Southampton appear confident they can convince the two-way player to make the move to Europe.
