Gabbiadini insists he is happy in the Premier League
Manolo Gabbiadini has insisted that he is happy in the Premier League amid reports that he could leave Southampton this summer.
The Italian international endured a difficult season with Saints, struggling to achieve a regular run of games under both Mauricio Pellegrino and Mark Hughes.
Gabbiadini did, however, score five goals for Saints, including his winner in the key relegation clash against Swansea City.
Speaking to Radio Onda Libera, as cited by Italian news outlet Sport Repubblica, Gabbiadini spoke of his love for the Premier League.
I’m still young and I want to grow in this division, I feel comfortable in the Premier League.
The former Napoli man has been heavily linked with a move away from St Mary’s this summer, with a whole host of Serie A clubs understood to have expressed an interest in signing him.
I have done my job and my duty, we will play in the Premier League again next year, and this is what we need to do.
I like the passion that you see in the stands with the correct behaviour and the constant excitement towards your team. I miss good food and the Italian climate, but I’m there (in England) to play and I feel good.
Sides such as Bologna and Lazio have been touted as potential destinations for the 26-year-old but it appears as though he is content with life in English football with Southampton for the time being.
