Fresh off the back of a much-needed 3-2 victory at West Brom last weekend, Southampton will be looking to maintain their good form against Liverpool on Sunday.

Mauricio Pellegrino’s side are unbeaten in their last four league outings (D3, W1), and lifted themselves out of the relegation zone with victory at The Hawthorns last time out.

Liverpool visit St Mary’s hoping to bounce back from their controversial home draw against Tottenham six days ago, with Jurgen Klopp’s men sitting comfortably in 3rd place in the Premier League table.

The Reds are the second highest scoring team in the league, bagging 59 goals in 26 games, with their formidable front three of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and former Saint Sadio Mane at the centre of the Merseysiders’ successes.

Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk returns to the South Coast for the first time since his record-breaking £75m million move to Liverpool, with mixed reactions set to greet him.

But who will Saints need to be most wary of?

Mo Salah

Liverpool’s £34m capture of former Roma star Mohamed Salah appears to be the signing of the summer, with the Egyptian winger producing some sensational performances for the Reds.

His 21 goals in 25 Premier League appearances so far this season have fired Liverpool into the top four, and the 25-year-old is showing no signs of his form deteriorating.

Saints will know that it will be imperative to stop Salah if they are to salvage any kind of result from this fixture.
