Southampton are keen on making a move for Swansea City playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson this summer, according to Sky Sources.
The Iceland international has been in superb season for the Swans despite them finding themselves dangerously low down on the Premier League table, impressing with consistently good performances.
It’s looking to be a nervy end to the season for Paul Clement’s men and if they do indeed go down to the Championship, they may struggle to keep hold of their best and most valuable players.
Even if they do stay up, it’s certain that Sigurdsson will not be short of potential suitors this summer, with a plethora of big clubs sure to be casting a keen eye over his progress.
The report from Sky also reinforces that Saints are keen to sign Pontus Jansson from Leeds United in the event that team captain Virgil van Dijk moves on this summer.
Sky also state that Saints have been tracking Sigurdsson for two years now.
