# Saints to make €18m Gabbiadini offer

According to [Area Napoli](https://www.areanapoli.it/interviste/venerato-gabbiadini-due-offerte-da-wolfsburg-e-southampton-retroscena-borussia_209120.html), Southampton are preparing to make an €18m move for Napoli forward Manolo Gabbiadini.

The report claims that both Wolfsburg and Southampton are ready to bid €18m for the striker once the January transfer window opens in two weeks time.

The two clubs are both said to be in talks with Gabbiadini’s agent at present.

Stoke City and Borrusia Dortmund are also thought to be keen, although their prospective offers are lower than that of Wolfsburg and Southampton.

Napoli are looking for a fee in the region of €24m for Gabbiadini. This is despite the Italian having scored just twice in 14 games this season in all competitions.

Southampton are on the lookout for a new striker in January following a devastating injury to Charlie Austin.

Austin – already on ten goals for the season – has been ruled out for up to four months after dislocating his shoulder against Hapoel last week.
