According to emerging reports in the Daily Mirror , Southampton are the latest club to join the race for promising FC Midtjylland winger Pione Sisto after a string of impressive performances for the Danish champions.
Sisto has caught the eye of many in recent times, after being Midtjylland’s stand-out player in their two games against Manchester United, turning in excellent displays in both.
Now, with Southampton looking for potential Sadio Mane replacements ahead of his likely departure in the summer, Sisto is on the radar for Ronald Koeman’s men.
Sisto did, in fact, play against the Saints in the early stages of the season, impressing with a burst of a pace and skill in both legs of the Europa League fourth qualifying round, in which Midjtylland progressed 2-1 on aggregate.
The 21-year-old, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, has had a £12 million price tag put on his head by the Danish side as potential suitors look to secure the winger’s services ahead of next season.
However, if Saints are to sign Sisto, they must act fast as fellow Premier League rivals Leicester and Everton are also said to be taking a huge interest in the young Dane.
Would Sisto be a good signing?
