# Saints scouts in attendance for Andone

Southampton were [among](https://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/southampton-send-delegation-for-forward-spanish-club-keen-to-sell) a host of English clubs in attendance for the recent Spanish second division clash between Cordoba and Mirandes as the Saints look to Spain for potential January targets.

It has been widely reported that chief scouts were sent from Southampton to watch over impressive Cordoba forward Florin Andone after the Romanian international has been in good form for the club.

The exciting 22-year-old broke into the Cordoba senior team last season and has since nailed down his place as a highly important forward for the Segunda division side.

Although Andone finds himself to be a regular at Cordoba, it is no secret that they are not really the most prestigious club around and it is possible that Andone will seek a move to a bigger league in order to secure a place in Romania’s Euro 2016 squad ahead of the summer.

Andone has made four appearances for Romania but has already bagged a goal in his country’s colours against fellow striker and Saints forward, Graziano Pelle and his Italy side.

The Romanian is set to cost around £4.5 million and could prove to be a decent striking alternative for Saints.
