# Saints target Imbula to cost £18.5 million

Southampton [target](https://www.clubcall.com/southampton/imbula-would-cost-saints-185m-1793950.html?) Giannelli Imbula has had an £18.5 million price tag slapped on him by current club Porto as several teams are set to make a move for the Frenchman in the not-so-distant future.

The Saints have been linked with Imbula since last summer as a potential replacement for want-away powerhouse Victor Wanyama, but have been told that the promising French midfielder will not come cheaply.

The 23-year-old workhorse has had a tough time at Porto, finding chances in the first-team fairly hard to come by since his arrival in the summer from French giants Marseille.

However, a move could be in the offing for the midfielder as interest is high from several clubs across Europe.

AC Milan are said to be leading the chase for Imbula, however Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has previously admitted to his admiration of the Frenchman and could move for him next summer.
