# Southampton interested in Charlton youngster

According to [reports](https://www.newsshopper.co.uk/sport/charlton/14159784.Southampton_join_Arsenal_and_Liverpool_in_transfer_battle_to_sign_Charlton_Athletic_prospect/?), Southampton are the latest Premier League club to take an interest in promising young Charlton forward Ademola Lookman after his impressive performances so far for the Championship club.

In recent weeks, Premier League giants Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool have expressed their interest in the exciting 18-year-old and Southampton have now joined the chase for Lookman.

It has also been reported that Southampton sent chief scouts to attend Lookman’s game against Burnley at Turf Moor for Charlton on Saturday in order to see just what the winger is all about. However, Lookman was ruled out for the match due to a hamstring injury sustained in Charlton’s last fixture against Bolton.

Lookman has bagged an incredible three goals in his last three appearances for the club, attracting interest from The Saints who will look to pounce on the youngster when the January transfer window opens.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman has already made his intentions clear regarding the window, expressing his desire to bolster his side’s attacking options.

Would Lookman be a good signing?
