# Saints target Austin staying put for the season

Long-term Southampton target Charlie Austin has [reassured](https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/transfers/austin-im-staying-at-qpr/ar-BBnBHd4?li=AA572I) QPR fans that he will be with the club until the end of this season at the very least amid talk of a move away from Loftus Road, with various Premier League clubs circling.

It was reported that Austin would be available to clubs for a fee as low as £8 million, however the Englishman has ruled out any move in a recent post-match interview.

Austin told Sky Sports about his future after his excellent performance against Brighton last night in which he bagged two goals to claw back a draw for QPR.

> I set out at the start (of the season) and I said to Les (Ferdinand) that I’m going to be here for the rest of the season; so I’m not going anywhere.

The prolific forward bagged 18 goals in his first season in the top flight of English football last season, but was unable to save QPR who now find themselves in the Championship with a new manager in the form of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
