# Wenger dismisses Wanyama talk

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has [played down](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsene-wenger-admits-victor-wanyama-6993384) recent rumours surrounding a move for Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama in January.

There has been plenty of talk regarding Wanyama’s future, given his antics last summer as he attempted to push through a move to Tottenham Hotspur, however The Saints held firm and turned away any potential move for the Kenyan.

Wenger, speaking in a recent press conference, told the media of his admiration of Wanyama but dismissed any talk of a January move for the Kenyan.

> I rate the player, but we are not on the case. We will see what is there. We have a whole December to go first.

Arsenal will face Tottenham for the signature of Wanyama in the summer as former-Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino may delve into the market yet again to look for Wanyana, who is currently valued at £20 million.

Where do you think Wanyama will be playing next season?
