# Fonte says Saints need to be perfect

Southampton captain Jose Fonte has [said](https://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20151127-jose-fonte-manchester-city-southampton-2823081.aspx) that Saints will need to be as close to perfection today as possible if they are to continue their away form at The Etihad.

The Saints are currently unbeaten away from home in all competitions this season but will need to be at their utmost best against Manchester City. They boast a wealth of talent; including Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Raheem Sterling.

It will be incredibly difficult for Southampton to keep them at bay, even with the likes of Cedric, Fonte, Van Dijk and Bertrand on top form at the moment having only conceded one goal in their last three Premier League matches.

Fonte has already been involved in two superb away performances at big clubs this season; a 3-1 win over Chelsea and 1-1 draw with Liverpool are the pick of their away performances so far this season.

Here is what Fonte thinks Saints need to do to get something out of today’s match:

> To get a result at Man City you need an almost perfect performance.

> We really need to go there with a good gameplan and have everyone pulling in the same way to achieve what we want.

> It’s important to start well, but the game is 90 minutes. We’re going to have to sustain, we’re going to have to be really focused and concentrate for the 95 or whatever minutes we need to.

> We go there with the mentality of winning and now people expect us to do something. That’s good for us.
