# Clasie admits to slow start at Southampton

Southampton midfielder Jordy Clasie has [admitted](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/11/24/southamptons-jordy-clasie-admits-his-struggles-over-adapting-to/) that he has struggled to adapt to the physicality and style of the English game, however he is learning with Southampton.

The Dutchman got off to a delayed start to life on the south coast after a combination of injuries to his hamstring and ankle, but now Clasie is ready to play regular football with The Saints.

Speaking of his first start for The Saints in his full Premier League debut against Liverpool, Clasie admitted that the intensity was tough for him to adjust to and that he did find it difficult despite turning in a reasonably good performance.

> The first minutes against Liverpool away, I look on the board and it felt like I had been play for 40 minutes and there was only 20 minutes on the board. That’s the level I want to play. The league is a very high level, but that’s why I came to England.

However, Clasie has also confirmed that he is not at full fitness yet, but has assured fans that once he is in full flow, he will be at his very best and the performances will improve.

> I’m 90-85 per cent. Give me a couple of weeks and then I’m 100 per cent.

Has Jordy Clasie impressed you so far?
