# Chelsea after Saints forward?

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is [thought](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-joining-transfer-race-southamptons-6880740) to have switched his attentions to Southampton winger Sadio Mane in his search for fire-power ahead of the January transfer window.

Mane has been in good form for the Saints this term; scoring six goals so far this season in all competition. These fine displays from the Senegal international have accrued interest from Manchester United as well, who were linked with a summer move for the winger until that died down.

The Red Devils were thought to have enquired about Mane over the summer but Southampton manager Ronald Koeman was adamant that he was not letting any more of his stars go. Of course he had already sold one to Manchester United; Morgan Schneiderlin.

Both Chelsea and Manchester United are looking for added strength going forward ahead of the transfer window and Sadio Mane would be a good buy for either side. However, it remains to be seen whether Southampton would be tempted by a big money bid for their star.
