Tadic – Stoke deserved the win

Southampton wide man Dusan Tadic has spoken of his frustrations following the Saints loss to Stoke today 1-0.

A 10th minute goal from Spaniard Bojan gave the away side the win in what was a game of few chances at St.Mary’s. Dusan Tadic himself had a decent chance to score but fired wide as Southampton found themselves up against a resolute Stoke back-line.

The defeat means that Southampton’s eight game unbeaten run comes to end but it increases the impressive away record that Stoke have had recently; they have now conceded just five goals in seven Premier League matches away from home.

Tadic has said that Stoke deserved the win and Southampton did not deserve any luck to get anything from the match, despite some fans bemoaning the performance of the referee.

We didn’t perform well and in the end Stoke deserved to win the game. We need to improve, we need to be sharper and to have more will to win these games.

It was a difficult afternoon and we didn’t perform how we normally can. This wasn’t Southampton. We need to improve.

Stoke are a good team but I think our energy and our will to win the game was not on such a high level. We need to work harder to win.

Pelle was brought down in the box but no penalty was given by the referee and although Tadic believed it was a penalty, he did not think Southampton deserved to get the luck.

I think it was a penalty but we didn’t deserve that luck. We need to clear our mistakes. I hope in the next games we show more spirit, energy and quality.
