# Our man of the match – Stoke (H)

On a frustrating and dismal afternoon on the south coast, Southampton were on the receiving end of an effective counter-attacking display from visitors Stoke, who came away with all three points from a 1-0 victory at St Mary’s.

There was very little to shout about regarding the Southampton performance, bar a couple of good moments where some actual football was played; but apart from that it was very simply lacklustre.

One player that did impress, however, was yet again Dusan Tadic.

The Serbian international was The Saints’ most potent threat throughout the game because of his trickery and comfortability when in possession. In a match that was very frustrating and that needed some spark from somewhere, it looked as though the only person it would come from was Tadic.

An honourable mention must also go to Jordy Clasie, who was having a sublime game before Ronald Koeman questionably substituted the Dutchman not long after the second half had begun.
