# Stoke boss Hughes complimentary of former club Saints

Stoke boss Mark Hughes has [admitted](https://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20151120-opposition-view-southampton-stoke-mark-hughes-2810000.aspx) that he is wary of the attacking talent that Southampton possess ahead of Saturday’s clash between the two sides, but has revealed that he believes his side’s strong away form could help them to earn a result at St. Mary’s this Saturday.

Hughes’ men have been in fine form away from home so far this season, conceding just five goals on the road and losing just one away from the Britannia.

The former-Southampton man spoke about his side’s chances in the recent press conference, referring to their previous meetings with Ronald Koeman’s team.

> Our record there isn’t great, but in recent times we’ve gone down there and got a decent draw I seem to remember. We want to go there, play well and get maximum points. We’ve got that capability.

However, Hughes as always was speaking fondly of The Saints and their attacking prowess going forward, insisting it would not be a one-sided game for either side on Saturday afternoon.

> They are a good side with good individual talents and are good on the break. Southampton are a good team, we accept that, and have spent a lot of money and had a good production line of academy players, which has enabled them to generate funds that they have re-invested in the team.

Southampton are currently placed in 7th and sit just four points off the top four.
