# Seager wants to impress Koeman

Southampton under-21 striker Ryan Seager has [spoken](https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/14039800.Seager_keen_to_impress_at_Southampton/?ref=rss) about his desire to want to impress Koeman and get a chance with the first team at some point this season.

He has already been on the bench for the Southampton first team on a few occasions this season but was not given the chance to come on and impress.

The 19-year-old forward has been on the cusp of first team involvement for a while now and is clearly very highly thought of by both the Southampton staff and fans. There have been a lot of people calling for Seager to be handed his chance; the cup game against MK Dons was one in particular.

However, a Capital One Cup appearance may already be beyond him with the Saints set to face Liverpool in the quarter-final of the competition next week at St.Mary’s; a game too big to hand the young forward an opportunity.

Seager said this when speaking about breaking into Koeman’s plans.

> At the start of the season that was my aim (to get in the first team), to get in and around it again, and I have done the last few weeks and hopefully I’ve been doing well in training to impress the coach and I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing.
