Seager wants to impress Koeman

Southampton under-21 striker Ryan Seager has spoken about his desire to want to impress Koeman and get a chance with the first team at some point this season.

He has already been on the bench for the Southampton first team on a few occasions this season but was not given the chance to come on and impress.

The 19-year-old forward has been on the cusp of first team involvement for a while now and is clearly very highly thought of by both the Southampton staff and fans. There have been a lot of people calling for Seager to be handed his chance; the cup game against MK Dons was one in particular.

However, a Capital One Cup appearance may already be beyond him with the Saints set to face Liverpool in the quarter-final of the competition next week at St.Mary’s; a game too big to hand the young forward an opportunity.

Seager said this when speaking about breaking into Koeman’s plans.

At the start of the season that was my aim (to get in the first team), to get in and around it again, and I have done the last few weeks and hopefully I’ve been doing well in training to impress the coach and I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing.
