Southampton are becoming worried on the fitness of Dutch central defender Virgil Van Dijk after he was taken off at half-time in Holland’s win over Wales.
It has now been confirmed by the Dutch FA that he was withdrawn with a knee injury and has already been ruled out of his Country’s clash with Germany on Tuesday.

This now means that he could be a big worry for Southampton’s game against Stoke which is coming up next weekend for the Saints. This would be a huge blow for Ronald Koeman as Van Dijk has arguably been Southampton’s best player so far this season and has barely set a foot wrong since signing on deadline day from Celtic for over £10m.
The defender has struck up a good partnership with team captain Jose Fonte in the heart of the Southampton defence and coming into the game against Stoke; it would be a horrible time for that partnership to split up.
