# Southampton’s summer dealings – The Ratings

It was yet another turbulent summer transfer window for Southampton this season, with plenty of new faces coming in the door, as well as a few very important players going out also. However, Ronald Koeman and his backroom staff have added to The Saints’ squad accordingly, to strengthen and develop the team further in order to pursue another high league finish in the Dutchman’s second season at the helm at St. Mary’s.

After losing three key players in the summer including Morgan Schneiderlin, Nathaniel Clyne and former-loanee defender Toby Alderweireld, Southampton’s job at progressing and improving on this high quality of a player was always going to be a tough task. However, it is a case of ‘so far, so good’ for The Saints, who sit where they finished last season in 7th place with 12 games played in the league, picking up their form after a slow start.
