Two Southampton players featured for Holland last night as they saw off Wales with a 3-2 victory.
However, it was not all smiles for the Saints contingent. One of Southampton’s players of the season so far, Virgil Van Dijk, was withdrawn at halftime having picked up a knock during the first half. The injury is not expected to be a major one and he should be fine for Southampton against Stoke next weekend.

Yet, fellow Saints man Jordy Clasie had a more enjoyable night as he almost played the full 90, being taken off in the 87th minute of the 3-2 victory.
Bas Dost gave Holland the lead but Joe Ledley made it 1-1. Arjen Robben then regained the lead for the Dutch, only for Emyr Huws to make it 2-2. The game was then settled with nine minutes to go as Robben rounded off the 3-2 win in what a superb spectacle.
Maarten Stekelenburg was also an unused substitute for Holland.
