# Victor Wanyama forced to pay for his own flight

Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama has [expressed](https://metro.co.uk/2015/11/13/victor-wanyama-is-furious-with-his-national-team-because-they-are-making-him-pay-for-his-own-flights-5498649/?) his anger at the Kenyan FA after he was forced to pay for his own travel to his nations friendly match.

Despite being captain of the Kenyan team, Wanyama was made to pay the full price for his flight as Kenya have a crucial qualifier against Cape Verde. The 24-year-old has already managed to gain 35 caps for his country but feels like the Kenyan FA do not cater to their foreign talents.

He has been forced to fly from Europe to his Country without being reimbursed for his travel expenses, which goes for the other non-Kenyan based players. This has caused a state of unrest in the Kenyan camp and the Saints midfielder has blamed his nations FA for making a difficult situation ahead of a big match.

> Once again the Kenya FA have failed to send air tickets to foreign-based players.
>
> The Federation is yet to refund us money we used to pay for our air tickets. We have always had a problem with preparations and nothing is different this time.
>
> We must take preparations seriously because we are playing a very good team in an important competition.
>
> We have not played a friendly while our opponents have been in Europe in a training camp.

Is Wanyama right, should the Kenyan FA be paying all of his travel expenses? I am sure Southampton do.
