# Saints draw Birmingham in FA Youth Cup

Southampton’s under-18’s side have drawn Birmingham at St.Mary’s in the 3rd round of the FA Youth Cup.

The competition, which is one of the most highly regarded youth trophies is one that Saints came fairly close to last season; losing in the semi-final to Leicester.

Chelsea went on to win the competition. The Blues love this cup as they have reached the final in each of the last four season, winning it three times. Norwich were the only team able to beat them in the final in 2013 as they saw them off 4-2 in the final.

However, Southampton will be hoping that this year can be theirs. A home draw is ideal for the Saints, giving them home advantage as they will be very confident of progressing to the 4th round of the prestigious tournament.

Southampton won the under-21 Premier League Cup last year and the under-18 side will be eager to try to follow-up on that success.

Have you followed the FA Youth Cup before? Are Southampton good enough to win it?
