# Don’t sell Pelle – Gordon Watson

Ex-Southampton man Gordon Watson has [said](https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/14024636.Southampton_should_slap_a__NOT_FOR_SALE__sign_on_Graziano_Pelle/?ref=rss) that the Saints must keep Italian frontman Graziano Pelle at the club through the January transfer window.

Pelle has already been linked with moves to two big European clubs in the last few days; with both Juventus and Manchester United being touted with interest in the Italy international.

The big target man has been in scintillating form so far this season for Southampton; scoring nine goals already this term in all competitions. He has made himself untouchable in the Saints line-up and is starting to show the type of consistency in his game that he lacked in spells last season, which was his first in English football.

With Southampton not actually having what you would call another senio out and out striker at the club, it is imperative that Graziano Pelle stays at Southampton and does not leave to ‘bigger things’.

This is what Watson had to say on Pelle:

> You can’t stop speculation.

> It means you’re doing something right. You can’t stop it, especially in the international break when there is less to write about.

> It isn’t just Pelle, you’ve got Mane and Tadic. The three of them are the best attacking three in the league!”

> But the club have to take a stance with these players and say they are not for sale.

> There’s no surprise Pelle has been linked away, but with the club’s ambitions they need to take a stance with these players and clubs now.
