Young Southampton defender Jason McCarthy has extended his side with Football League side Wycombe until the 3rd January next year.
The Saints academy product has already made five appearances for Wycombe since joining the club midway through October on an initial one-month emergency loan from the Premier League side.

It has been McCarthy’s first taste of regular senior football and seems to be thriving on it. The 20-year-old has clearly impressed enough that he is wanted at the club for even longer.
McCarthy has helped Wycombe to two clean sheets in his last two games and helped them to progress through to the 2nd round of the FA Cup. He can play just as well on the right side of defence as he can in the middle and it is that sort of versatility that can make him a real asset for Wycombe and then, potentially, Southampton in the future.
