Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has claimed that Southampton’s superb away record this season in the Premier League is from him doing, well, nothing.
He has said that their unbeaten away form this season in the Premier League is down to the fact that Saints do not change the way they approach the game, home or away, and play the same way no matter which stadium they are in; St.Mary’s or otherwise.
Saints beat Sunderland 1-0 away thanks to a Dusan Tadic penalty, continuing their unbeaten away Premier League form that has seen them avoid defeat to the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea; drawing with Liverpool 1-1 and beating Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge.
Koeman’s men have played six Premier League away games this season, losing none and keeping clean sheets in three of them. Here is what Ronald Koeman had to say on his sides excellent away form and why they have been so good on the road.

The secret is that we like to play in the same way at home as we play away.
I think that gives the players a lot of confidence, of course if we don’t lose away the boys are growing.
We like to grow both individually and collectively as a team. That was good (at Sunderland).
In the beginning we had some problems to have clean sheets.
But now we’ve had two in a row and I think that’s very good.
That makes it easier because normally we have players who can score a goal. If you keep a clean sheet normally that’s three points.
Maybe the difference was offensively against Sunderland we did it better than we did against West Brom and Watford.
