Koeman expecting a Sunderland backlash

Southampton chief Ronald Koeman has warned his players of a potentially dangerous Sunderland side as The Black Cats will try to put things right after their disappointing 6-2 loss away at Everton last Sunday.

Koeman, speaking in his pre-match press conference, has reminded people that the last visit to The Stadium of Light that Southampton encountered was when Sunderland were desperately scrapping for a win; a win in which they got after Jordi Gomez helped them to a 2-1 victory.

Southampton face a similar encounter now with Sunderland, who find themselves 19th in the league under new manager Sam Allardyce, who will desperately be hoping for another big three points at home.

The Dutch manager had this to say about the task at hand on Saturday afternoon:

How they play? They change the system. We have to wait, but we have to be prepared for a difficult one and not only in football wise, but in battles, in fight and to be physically and mentally strong to prepare the game.

Southampton and Ronald Koeman will be hoping to continue their excellent unbeaten away form this season with a big win against struggling Sunderland.
