Southampton’s mercurial winger Sadio Mane has made the 10-man short-list of the CAF African player of the year award.
Saints midfielder Victor Wanyama was in the provisional short-list but unfortunately did not manage to get into the top-10.
However, Sadio Mane has. Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure is the strong favourite for the award, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also one of the favourites to claim the award with his stellar form for Dortmund.

Sadio Mane is one of three Premier League stars on the list, with the aforementioned Toure and then Andre Ayew from Swansea is the third Premier League player in the top-10.
Along with these three; Aymen Abdennour, Modather El Tayeb, Mohamed Salah, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Serge Aurier, Sofiane Feghouli and Yacine Brahimi make up the rest of the short-list.
The winner will be picked on the 7th January next year, with, as mentioned before, Yaya Toure expected to take the award given his fine form for Manchester City this year.
