Southampton’s Dutch trio of Virgil Van Dijk, Jordy Clasie and Maarten Stekelenburg have all been named in Danny Blind’s provisional squad for Holland’s friendly ties versus Wales and Germany.
Both of the games are in around two weeks time and will give Holland a chance to get some more pleasing results, however, nothing will take away the pain of not qualifying.

The two games will be the first for the Dutch national team since their European qualification campaign came to an end, with the 2010 World Cup finalists not even making the play-off stage of qualification.
Both Virgil Van Dijk and Jordy Clasie are relative newcomers to the international scene. They have just 13 caps for Holland between the two of them. On the other hand, goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg is a much more experienced player. 54 caps for Stekelenburg as he has been around the senior national side for the last 11 years or so. He also played in their World Cup final defeat to Spain back in 2010 in South Africa.
