# Our man of the match: Bournemouth (H)

This is a brand new feature that we are starting here at ReadSouthampton. Each week, we will pick our man of the match from Southampton’s match and then at the end of the season, we will tally up the player with the most awards, he will be then claim our player of the season award (Which I am sure they will be delighted with).

Our man of the match from today’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth is Ryan Bertrand.

Not only did he work tirelessly down the left flank all evening, he showed class going forward and going back.

He set-up the opening goal of the game as he ran into the box and sent in a fantastic cross straight to Steven Davis for the Northern Irishman to volley Southampton into the lead.

He also put in a fantastic defensive shift at left back. Bournemouth dominated the second half and Bertrand cut out their attacks from wide positions on a number of occasions and kept the highly rated Matt Richie quiet for most of the match. Which, is no easy feat.

So, Bertrand claims the first man of the match award for us this season, do you agree with the decision?
