# Southampton vs Bournemouth – Q&A with ReadBournemouth

Southampton will face AFC Bournemouth this Sunday afternoon and I caught up with [Jonny Gilder](https://readbournemouth.com/author/jonnygilder/) of [ReadBournemouth](https://www.readbournemouth.com/) to get his view on The Saints’ game against The Cherries.

### What have you thought of Bournemouth’s season so far?

> We got off to a fantastic start with wins against the likes of West Ham and Sunderland and with Calum Wilson banging in the goals it looked like Bournemouth could be in for an exceptional season however injuries have played a key role in recent weeks and now we are beginning to struggle.

### Do you think Bournemouth have what it takes to take three points away from Sunday?

> As Editor of Read Bournemouth I feel obliged to say yes to this however it’ll be a tough match for Bournemouth with the quality that Southampton possess.

### Where do you think The Cherries will finish this season?

> I think we need to be aiming at surviving. It’s tough to make a call on where we will actually end up because of the injuries we’ve sustained. It’s going to be a long season.

### Who is Bournemouth’s biggest threat ahead of Sunday?

> I’d have to go for Matt Ritchie. He’s a tricky winger with a belter of a shot. Ritchie has performed superbly this season and Southampton should be wary of him. If he is given time and space around the box he can score or assist.

### What Southampton player are you particularly worried about for Bournemouth?

> Sadio Mane. The pace and power of the winger is truly frightening when you think that he’ll be coming up against the likes of Simon Francis, Adam Smith and Sylvain Distin. Dusan Tadic, Victor Wanyama and Graziano Pelle are also players that are big threats.

### Where do you think Southampton will finish?

> I think Southampton are perfectly capable of finishing in the top 10 and should be pushing for the European places again.

### What is your score prediction?

> Being optimistic, I’ll go for 1-0 to Bournemouth. Matt Ritchie with a wonder strike!

I would like to thank Jonny for taking the time to answer these questions and giving an insight as to what we can expect from Bournemouth on Sunday and to wish them good luck for the remainder of the season in their bid for Premier League survival.
