# Saints looking at Italy international forward

Southampton are reportedly tracking 28-year-old Italian forward Eder.

The Sampdoria attacker was linked with a move to Southampton back in the summer when he price was quoted as being a meager £5m.

However, the forward has been in fine form at the start of the Serie A season and currently sits as the league’s joint-top scorer alongside former Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain with seven goals. Now Southampton could go back in for him in January.

The Brazil-born Italian international has played alongside current Saints striker Graziano Pelle for the national team and Ronald Koeman could be looking to bring the pair together at club level after a Saints scout was reportedly seen watching the striker as Sampdoria beat Hellas Verona 4-1 in Serie A. Eder scored his seventh goal of the season in this game.

It is not just Southampton that are interested in the forward however. Scouts from AC Milan, Schalke, Stuttgart and Juventus were also apparently there to watch the Italian international in action.

**Would this be a good signing for Southampton?**
