Jurgen Klopp has expressed his awareness of the threat that Southampton possess ahead of his side’s match against The Saints on Sunday afternoon.
Klopp, who will be looking to make his first home Premier League game a winning one, spoke of Southampton in a very cautious and positive manner, talking about the wealth of attacking talent that The Saints have within their squad.
The German spoke mainly about the focal point in the Southampton side, Graziano Pelle, explaining his view on the style of football Southampton play, and how they have a strong Plan B if their usual ball playing, possession style of football fails to make an impact. Klopp said: “They want to play if you let them. If not, they have Pellè. It’s a good thing to give him the ball because he’s very physical and technical, a really good striker.”

However, Klopp is also aware that the surrounding players of Pelle are a massive threat to his Liverpool side, identifying the talent of Southampton’s wingers. “They have Mané around him – big speed, a big talent, a really good player, and Tadić on the left-wing; I heard he head the most crosses in the Premier League,” Klopp told the press.
The new Liverpool boss did express his confidence ahead of the match, however: “They are a good team and it’s not an easy game. But we are at home and that’s what we want to show.”
Can Southampton spring a surprise or two when taking on Klopp’s men?
