# Gardos hopeful of 2016 return

Southampton centre back Florin Gardos has informed supporters that he is aiming to return to action for The Saints at the very beginning of 2016, as the Romanian continues his recovery from a knee injury.

The powerful defender took to Twitter to update fans on his current injury status, sharing his delight at how his recovery is going. Gardos is yet to feature for Southampton in this competitive season, after picking up a long-term injury in training during pre-season.

Gardos, 26, was used mainly as a back-up player for The Saints, but he is looking to the future and is optimistic about returning to Premier League action. Since his injury, Southampton have signed Virgil van Dijk and brought in Steven Caulker on loan, so it will be a tough task for Gardos to break into Ronald Koeman’s plans.

> Good news. I hope 2016 will be The Gardos Year. January is the month for comeback! I dream about that moment almost every night! [#saintsfc](https://twitter.com/hashtag/saintsfc?src=hash)

How highly do you rate Gardos, and do you think he’s good enough to break into the team?
