Southampton midfielder Jordy Clasie is eager to get on the pitch and show the fans what he can do.
The Dutchman was injured in the Europa League tie against Vitesse, his first competitive game for The Saints, and he’s yet to feature since.
He was almost back in first team contention, but he was re-injured in an Under-21 tie against Manchester City just seconds into the second half, which he was ironically playing in to try to build up some match-fitness.
However, the midfielder’s injury woes are hopefully behind him now, and having suffered no ill-effects after playing for an hour in a behind-closed-doors friendly last week; he is desperate to play a part in the Premier League tie against Leicester City this weekend.

Speaking to Southampton FC, he said:
It’s up to the trainer if I play some minutes or if I’m in the squad. I hope so because I’m fit and I can’t wait. t was an unlucky start to the season, but now I hope I can show my qualities on the pitch and I can show the fans what I have.
Clasie also said that the international break came at a good time for him personally, as it gave him more time to get back to full fitness, but suggested that it came at a poor time for the squad as a whole, as it could disrupt their momentum.
For me the international break was perfect. I can make some minutes on the pitch. But for the boys maybe it was not because there was a good feeling and they win their matches, but we will see this weekend.
