James Ward-Prowse and Matt Targett both featured as England Under 21’s comfortably beat Kazakhstan’s Under 21 side 3-0.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Nathan Redmond and Chuba Akpom all bagged goals to maintain England’s 100% record so far in Euro 2017 Qualification; much like the senior team.
Prowse and Targett both played a full 90 minutes for Gareth Southgate’s team, both turning out with impressive performances. Southampton left back Targett enjoyed a comfortable night down the left hand side, showing good support going forward and a cool head coming back when defending.

The England Under 21 captain, James Ward-Prowse, also of Southampton, enjoyed a very good performance in the heart of the midfield. The promising young midfielder managed to showcase yet again his potential to be a key member of the senior England squad, and just why he is the captain of the Under 21’s.
On several occasions Ward-Prowse delivered some inviting crosses from set pieces, which England failed to take advantage of, but it is becoming clear to see the star quality that he possesses and just how good his crossing is, which Southampton will look to benefit from when Ward-Prowse plays for them this season.
There are no more games to be played now for the under 21’s until the next international break, and therefore Ward-Prowse and Targett will return to Southampton as they prepare to face Leicester City at home on Saturday.
