Southampton midfielder Jordy Clasie has confirmed his fitness and availability for Saturday’s clash against Leicester City.
The Dutch midfielder was signed in the summer for a fee around £8 million but is yet to make his Premier League debut for The Saints.
Clasie has made just one competitive start for the club, against Vitesse Arnhem in the Europa League, but was forced off in the second half with a hamstring injury.
Since then, he has played some football in a closed-doors friendly against Ajax, and is expected to be part of the match-day squad for Southampton at the weekend.

Speaking to the Southampton FC YouTube channel, Clasie said: “It’s up to the trainer if I play some minutes or if I’m in the squad. I hope so because I’m fit and I can’t wait.”
Clasie continued: “It was an unlucky start to the season but now I hope I can show my qualities on the pitch and I can show the fans what I have. It was tough mentally because I’ve never been injured and then I came here to a new cub and I got two injuries. My start to the season was not so perfect, but now I’m back.”
