Southampton duo Sadio Mane and Victor Wanyama have both been shortlisted for the African Footballer of the Year Award.
The Senegalese and Kenyan internationals have been named on a 37-man list which includes another nine Premier League based players.

The 37-man list will be cut down to a top ten in November. It will then be cut down again to a top five, and then to a top three for the awards ceremony.
Yaya Toure is currently the holder of the award and has won it four consecutive times between 2011 and 2014. If he wins it this year, he’ll replace Samuel Eto’o as the player to win the prestigious award the most times. Both have won it four times at present.

The nine other Premier League players nominated for the award are:
Christian Atsu (Bournemouth), Andre Ayew (Swansea), Yannick Bolasie (Crystal Palace), Mame Diouf (Stoke City), Rudy Gestede (Aston Villa), Max Gradel (Bournemouth),, Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City), Dieumerci Mbokani (Norwich City) and Yaya Toure (Manchester City).
