# Berahino potentially misses game vs Saints

Southampton travel to play West Brom at the Hawthorns in their next Premier League outing on Saturday and West Brom could be without their top goalscorer from last season.

22-year-old Saido Berahino could potentially miss the game over worries on his match fitness.

Berahino hasn’t played since August 15th and West Brom manager Tony Pulis will be monitoring his fitness in the lead up to the game. It is likely that Rondon will start for the Baggies with Berahino either on the bench or not involved.

He was dropped by Pulis following the intense transfer speculation regarding his future with West Brom. Spurs put in a number of bids, none of which were deemed to be acceptable by West Brom and so he has stayed put.

This could be a good thing for Ronald Koeman’s men as Berahino is an important player for West Brom and is one of their main, if not their main, goalscorer. However, Salomon Rondon could still be a threat. The 25-year-old forward has 1 goal and 1 assist in three games for West Brom having joined them for a club record fee this summer of £12m.

Saints will be expected to hand a debut to new signing Virgil Van Dijk following his £10m from Scottish champions Celtic.
