# Koeman: I would love to manage Barcelona

Ronald Koeman is a two time Premier League manager of the month award winner and a man whom Southampton fans have immediately warmed to but is the dutchman already looking to move on.

There are always rumours circulating managers but the current one surrounding the in-form Southampton manger could have a bit of truth behind them.

Despite Barcelona currently having a manger in Luis Enrique who has guided them to the top of La Liga, Koeman has stated that he would love to manage Barcelona.

The Dutch coach spent six seasons as a player for the Spanish Giants winning four consecutive league titles and a European cup.

Koeman went on to join Barcelona’s backroom staff as assistant to Louis Van Gaal in 1998.

The Saints boss admitted he has a deep affinity with the Catalan giants and would jump at the chance of managing his former club.

“If I could become Barcelona coach one day, I would be delighted,” the Southampton boss told Radio Station Cadena COPE.

The 51 year old continued to tell us that he is in contact with Barcelona’s director of football Txiki Begirstain.

Koeman told the Spanish radio station “I am ready to manage a big club, i have spent a lot of time coaching at various clubs.”

The news comes of the back of speculation linking Koeman with a move to Premier League rivals Manchester City after their current boss Manuel Pellegrini came under fire following a run of poor results.

Though Barcelona may have a manager who like Koeman is performing very well for his club, Saints fan may not sleep so easy knowing that their prize possession has his mind elsewhere.
